Logs record actions on a server.
The term localhost means the current machine. On your own log it means your server. On a remote server it means that remote server.
Why Logs Matter
Logs can reveal:
- IP addresses
- Logins
- Transfers
- Uploads and downloads
- Virus actions
- DDoS activity
- Bitcoin-related details
Editing logs is an important defensive and offensive skill.
