Research upgrades licensed software.

To research a file:

  * Own the software license.
  * Have enough money in the selected bank account.
  * Start the research task.

Bulk research can queue multiple research cycles at once, up to the current game limit. Bulk research costs extra compared with single-cycle research.

You cannot research the same software twice at the same time.

Common researchable software includes:

  * Hider
  * Seeker
  * Anti-Virus
  * Spam, Warez, Miner, and DDoS viruses
  * FTP and SSH exploits

Not every file type is researchable.

Certifications introduce game mechanics and unlock features.
